REI KAWAKUBO

(Designer of "Comme des garçons")

It says, in H&M magazine, that "Comme des garçons" pulls in $150 million annually. Yet Kawakubo does not seem particularly interested in spending money on herself. Unlike her contemporaries Valentino, Versace and Hilfiger, she leads a quiet life, never appearing at glitzy parties, rarely giving interviews and showing no outward signs of extravagence. She lives as a true artist".
